Creating The Evil Index

I've always wondered why good people in many countries chose to support or elect evil leaders. In these troubled times, it baffled me that most of the world was actually doubling down on leaders they wouldn't choose as friends or to marry their daughters (yes, most evil leaders are men). So an insight sparkled in my mind that regular citizens might not know what an evil leader looks like nor the damage they could inflict during their rule or term.

I decided to create a formula to quantify evil leadership and let anyone play with the numbers so it can serve as a critical thinking educational tool identify dangerous leaders.

The basic formula I came up with is E = 100R + ON where E = The Evil Index itself and…

R = Rule of Law Index

This measures the rule of law in a country when a specific leader you're trying to measure rose to power. I.e: Hitler in 1933, Trump in 2016 or Xi Jinping in 2013.

Why is this important? We figured that the level of evilness of a leader is inversely proportional to the Rule of Law Index of such a country. For instance, a leader who subverts the institutions of the United States will be more evil than a leader who inherited a country with no institutions such as North Korea, where he/she can do whatever they want.

For R, we considered the following brackets to guide you about the rule of law in any specific country:

I believe it needs some adjustment. Maduro can't be more evil than Stalin by any measure, at least, not with what we know right now. Also, Hitler lost the elections to Hidenburg, was appointed Chanceler after pressure from germans junkers and seized power with a combination of violence and political manouvers.
